Research that stays in papers only goes so far. Three times I have taken results out of the lab and built a company around them — not to sell from this site, but because a company is the honest test of whether an idea survives outside the lab.

An academic spin-off of Politecnico di Milano that develops AI for physical systems in space and space-grade manufacturing: on-board processing of satellite data and AI-based quality control of electronics, for customers such as Leonardo and Thales Alenia Space. I am its Chief Research Officer; it is led by two of my former PhD students.
Quantia Consulting (2019–)
Strategic consultancy and education for organizations that want to become data-driven. It is also one of the channels through which I deliver professional training, alongside CEFRIEL and the POLIMI Graduate School of Management.
Fluxedo (2016–2020)
Founded to exploit the industrial outcomes of my stream reasoning research: cloud-based social media analytics and Edge AI crowd analytics. Sold in early 2020.
